A trip to Hull last weekend to meet Ben's family yielded a very pleasing charity shop haul. White and gold sugar bowl (and some sort-of matching cups and saucers too, though I don't have a picture of them yet), decorative shot glasses and, most importantly, a mini planter - it's blue and gold, it's a dog drawing a cart, it's mini - what more could you ask for?! Don't answer that. Now all it needs is a little compost and some cress seeds and it'll be perfect.
On a whim I popped into the Birkbeck library to check the sale shelf and spotted this old Penguin copy of Nabokov's Despair. For a quid I couldn't resist the eighties-tastic cover, and it's turning out to be a pretty good read...
I won the vintage horse eggcup a couple of weeks ago on Ebay - isn't it cute? I don't really eat boiled eggs that often, but it's doing a good job of storing my hair pins and loose earrings, so no matter.
And finally I picked up these pretty heart shaped pins in The Create Place in Bethnal Green. I'm hoping they'll inspire me to put down the crochet and get some sewing done!
