A few days before I moved house, I noticed this bedside table abandoned by the bins on our street, and (under cover of darkness) I worked up the courage to liberate it! While some folk are very good at not getting embarrassed taking furniture they find out and about (and end up with some great free pieces because of it), I must admit this is something I need to work on - but I'm getting better!
I'm sure this type of chintzy furniture is some people's idea of hell, but it's right up my alley. Oooh look at that gold trim, the slightly scruffy paintwork - dreamy!
This is fab, good find! So much of the stuff in our house was scrounged from family members or stuff people were throwing out and it's such a good way of getting an eclectic mix of stuff!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh this is lovely - great find!
ReplyDeleteGreat find, it's a gorgeous 50s shape. Are you going to do any diy to it? I can see the top shelf being lined with floral paper..
ReplyDeleteGood find! I love finding things, though not so easy now we are living in a little village, people just don't leave stuff on the street like they do in cities!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find! I have to say I am not sure how comfortable I would feel either, however I don't ever really see any good things!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great little find! I don't have the courage either to snag pieces and have missed out on my fair share of nice things because of it.
ReplyDeleteBrill find :) Yeah, I do still get a little embarrassed if I take something from the street but usually my 'oooh, I want, I want' part of my brain takes over and wipes it out! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who feels a bit silly nabbing stuff off the street.
